Improvisation piece for flutes and voice

It was a concert with Sakura5, Japanese vocal ensemble.

I played an improvisation piece with Sachiko Kinebuchi (voice) which was very well received by audience. It was the improvisation piece inspired by some old  poems from the Hyakunin-ishu.

I had this idea for my CD recording. Actually even though I love of course to play written music by talented composers, sometimes it is nice to play something improvised or composed by my self.

I simply enjoy improvising and also it gave me another viewpoint to see the written music by composers It is like, you pay more attention to the choice of words, expressions, grammar etc... when you have to speak by yourself than you just read what you see.

But of course I principally want to play written music by composers, classic to contemporary :-)

I also played Haru no umi with piano & flute, and presented Japanese flutes.

It was in the big hall / Théâtre St Michel in Brussels

Beethoven concert with Daniel, Cmaille Babut Du marès & Johaness Burghoff @ Atelier Marcel Hastir.

I played duo with cello & serenade with violin & viola. It was first time to play this Serenade. I loved it very much and hope to play it again. :-)

It was so nice to play the classical period music. Actually because I play more often modern-contemporary & Japanese music (I love those music as well!), it was a kind of rediscovery and at the same time I felt this music very naturally.

Concert & Stand @ Made in Asia in Brussels

Week-end with Made in Asia in Brussels.

We had a stand, as "Atelier de flûte" my flute & shinobue school, where people can try the shinoue.

And we had a two concerts, one small concert on Friday and another longer concert on Sunday. We played one Japanese classical piece, some folksongs (Takeda no komoriuta, kokiriko-bushi the oldest folksong, Donpan-bushi) & Hana, popular song inspired by Okinawa melody.

The idea of this song's lyric was made when the singer was watching theclosing ceremony of Tokyo Olympic in 1964. He was touched by Olympic athletes smiling, crying, hugging together without regard to race, religion, or nationality.

The lyric says "Let's bloom flowers in your heart". I found this message is also nice for us in 2017 :-)

During this song, one of musician got off the stage to distribute paper flowers (Origami) made by us to the audience :-)

We finished our concert with Donpan-Bushi and as usual the audience sang with us :-)
During the expo, many people visited our stand and tried the flute. There is no picture with full of people (even it was!) ... but we had a nice time to present our traditional flute :-)
